Portfolio Development

 Middle School and High School

At Tumbleweeds Art Group, our Portfolio Development program is designed for middle school, high school, and college-bound students preparing portfolios for specialized art high schools, college admissions, scholarships, AP Art, and other competitive visual arts programs. Through individualized mentorship, students develop a cohesive body of work that showcases technical skill, creativity, and a distinctive artistic voice.

Students complete original portfolio pieces that are thoughtfully planned and customized to align with the goals and application requirements of the schools or programs they are pursuing. Throughout the process, students strengthen technical abilities, explore new materials and ideas, develop conceptual thinking, and learn how to present their work with confidence.

Students may work across a wide range of mediums—including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, textile art, embroidery, fashion design, etc.—as we determine the strongest direction for their individual portfolio and artistic goals.

Over the years, Tumbleweeds students have been accepted to New York City's leading arts high schools—including Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School, and High School of Art and Design—as well as prestigious art colleges and universities across the country. Every portfolio is thoughtfully developed around each student's strengths, interests, and artistic goals, resulting in a body of work that is both personally meaningful and competitive for specialized arts programs.
